Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Brave, diligent, and also decidedly quirky, the dedication with which this dragon goes about bettering the world is offset only by his bizarre fondness for drinking his tea with a pinkie claw extended and speaking in an exaggerated, clearly fake accent to anyone he comes across. Anyone who points out the latter fact is politely ignored, the dragon simply sipping his tea and muttering something about "bloody 'merikans" before continuing on with a different topic. While a choice few find these habits of his annoying, most people (a few lovely sunstone girls among them) find them endearing, but the extra charm is hardly needed; his habit of fighting off evil and protecting the weak is already more than enough to win their good graces!
