Antarean Dragons are peaceful creatures shrouded in mystery. They are primarily found in the desert where they get most of their energy from sunbathing. Their most notable traits are their highly reflective manes and the mysterious light emitted by their scales which fades from bright, nearly blinding yellow-white into dim red as the dragons get older. Legend claims that they are otherworldly beings that came to this world when a meteor struck.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

There's a desert territory not on any Galsreim map where a group of antareans have lived quietly for over a century. The tallest rock formation there is home to Available, whose most notable physical trait is his sunset-colored mane. The story goes that after a year-long absence, he returned to his people a different man with different hair. On his quest, he was blessed by the Avatar of Change, whose great power dyed his mane purple, red, and orange. Neither harsh light nor hard scrubbing could dull the radiant hues. The community had heretofore survived with no leadership, but with encouragement from the oracles and enthusiasm from everyone else, it was decided that Available should rule as their king. His popularity remains high thanks in part to his mane, with which he stands out among the fair-haired populace. It makes perfect sense that Available was chosen to rule simply because his hair is colored; after all, in the land of the blond, the one dyed man is king.
