Golden Wyverns are known for their beautiful metallic scales and rumored magical abilities. Living high in the mountains, these dragons do not believe in killing for sport or pleasure. They will hunt only when hungry and defend themselves when provoked, but will avoid killing to the best of their abilities. Golden Wyverns often mingle with other dragons of similar color and take pride in their shimmering hide.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Flyute is a loner dragoness who lives just a few miles beyond the borders of the dragon clan, though no one can figure out why she has chosen to live this way. A social female, she loves to mingle with dragons of all kind and her mountain cave is always filled with the aroma of food and laughter to welcome passers-by of any species or breed to spend the night. In fact sometimes she even complains of being lonely when no one visits. Some claim it is because she doesn't wish to adhere to the dragon clan's responsibilities and traditions, such as baby sitting, hunting, and only having one mate. Aside from her open nature she is typical for a dragon in her behavior, raising any eggs she lays up until adolescence and then leaving them to fend for themselves and having no set mate. Some of the dragons in the clan look down on her for this, saying she's primitive and below them, but for the most part everyone leaves her to her own devices since it's none of their business.
