Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Resia Tempest, the celebrated child of Kallikrates and Kaimana, grew up happily and still lives his life as such. Resia's favorite place is the series of hanging cliffs that denote the line between the jungle and the seaside, both moderately far from the cave where he was born. Resia enjoys the euphoria of soaring and diving in the ocean spray, whether alone or in the company of others. Resia, while not bitter, is discomforted by the Tempest name he carries; he prefers calm to storms, and would not wish the hullabaloo that accompanied his birth on any hatchling. However, Resia remains open to the idea of finding a mate and welcomes the idea of spending afternoons flying over the coast with someone special.
