Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kenpachi is lucky he was born in the body of a black dragon, because there's nothing he loves more than the thrill of a good fight. He is the most aggressive dragon in Nadat's cave, but he does choose his targets with care. He will only fight a dragon that is of equal strength as him or greater; fights with weaker dragons are boring. Kenpachi has staggered into the cave bleeding badly many times, but so far he's lived to fight another day.<br/>His mate, Yumichika, knows that one day Kenpachi won't survive the battle, but accepts this. After all, to Kenpachi's way of thinking, on that day he will truly, finally live.
