Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. The sprouts around it are lively and sparkling with fresh dew.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Moneychanger is adopted, and while some folks still hold some hope that his parent(s) will show up, most assume that it's up to his current caretakers to teach him skills and morals rather than wait around. He spends three days of the week sitting atop the moneychanger counter of the Perepor Embassy or "patrolling" (scurrying around) that area. His presence has been shown to foster honest dealings and peaceful discussion, whether that's because he's one of the honorable breeds, or because he's an innocent-looking little hatchling, or because he already knows a bit of lightning magic and zaps troublemakers. He's not officially employed here, since, while not illegal, using child labor is frowned upon, and that includes child dragons. However, Moneychanger does get treats and the occasional plaything for his time at the Embassy. Sometimes, he likes holding very still on the corner edge of the counter so he looks like a decorative figurine.
