Crystalline Dragons are a northern breed with icy skin and a ferocious temperament. Their scales are highly reflective and translucent, giving their hides a characteristic “ice crystal” appearance. Large and solitary, they roam mountainsides, tundras, and frozen wastes searching for food and occasionally mates. They have expansive territories and don’t generally roam far outside. If two similarly sized Crystalline Dragons do encounter each other, a vicious and explosive fight is soon to ensue.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sahid goes out on long outings and brings everything that looks interesting or useful back to his cave. The place is protected with a magical field and traps at the mouth, to deter anyone from going in while he's away. When he brings stuff back, he lays everything on top of the table-slab in the main room and gives himself 827 seconds to determine whether he really needs each thing. If not, he discards it outside. There's a lot of junk by Sahid's cave but also a lot of useful items. Other dragons have been able to quietly "trespass" on his land, rummage around the dump, and take whatever they want, and he doesn't care. The mouthful of polite souls who tried to ask permission from him were driven away or killed for disturbing him. Nowadays, everyone warns newcomers to not get caught and killed because the bones and organ bits that Sahid doesn't eat also end up in the dump, and no one wants the potentially good stuff there to get contaminated.
