Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Hio is a brome remedy seller who leaves his family territory twice a week to peddle the drinks and powders. Some buyers believe there are magical properties to the edible goods made from some species, but Hio doesn't market them as such. He occasionally brings home some unique knickknacks along with money, and the front atrium of the lair has become host of a curiosity collection. He's the only royal blue in his mixed-breed clan, known to be mild-mannered and easy to please. He hardly gets angry and is never heard to roar or raise his voice, but he's snide when he's annoyed with someone, and some dragons think that's worse than yelling.
