Crystalline Dragons are a northern breed with icy skin and a ferocious temperament. Their scales are highly reflective and translucent, giving their hides a characteristic “ice crystal” appearance. Large and solitary, they roam mountainsides, tundras, and frozen wastes searching for food and occasionally mates. They have expansive territories and don’t generally roam far outside. If two similarly sized Crystalline Dragons do encounter each other, a vicious and explosive fight is soon to ensue.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sozen takes the boundaries of his territory very seriously. Every morning as he goes out to hunt for his first meal, he will walk the perimeter of his personal area of the mountains, paying keen attention to any signs of potential challengers to his claim. When he's not looking for food, Sozen will search for large pointy spikes of ice mana crystals to gouge from the cliffsides, and place on the territory boundaries as beacons for his daily patrol. The enormous spines of shimmering crystal serve as both place-markers for Sozen and an inherent threat to unwanted trespassers.
