Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Hemimorpyre WinterWind (after the gemstone: Hemimorphite) was the 62nd dragon adopted into the clan cave. He is a very quiet, solid dragon whose mannerisms seem to reflect the calm stillness of a mid-winter's eve, where the wind is silent and the night weighs heavy upon the world. Most days, he seems frozen in place, never moving, rarely blinking, with his sapphire wings wrapped delicately around his frame. Some of the clan elders equate him to the legendary "Father Time", immobile yet all-knowing, all-seeing, and always changing. Once per year, when the clan gathers in the snow for the unveiling of the ice sculptures, Hemimorpyre emerges from his frozen statue form to view the year's new additions. In a way, it is as if his presence provides an unspoken approval, and with his nod, the clan knows the winds of time will again blow the season to change.
