Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, the sky has been full of very dark clouds.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing. It’s learned to use its new wings quickly and you now have a hard time keeping it on the ground.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Akkado never felt more comfortable than when she was wrapped up in her blankets, covered in them from head to toe so nobody could see her, and she could not see them. It did not matter if nobody else was in the cavern with her at the time, or if the place was as quiet as a graveyard, she would only feel comfortable when covered with the soft fabric. She is unsure as to why she feels this way; she has no wish for the warmth, the light does not hurt her eyes, and she is perfectly comfortable with the outside world. Others frequently complain about this, telling her that it is unhealthy and a bad habit, and while she hears their points she cannot but wonder whether or not they are taking the time to attempt at understanding her reasons. When sleeping she is comfortable having her head outside of the blankets, but when day dawns it disappears like a tortoise into her cotton shell. Sleeping is the one time she truly feels comfortable.
