Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It spends a lot of time stalking and pouncing playfully on the tails of adult dragons nearby.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Hardware Store's cave looks odd. That's the nicest adjective most of his peers will give it. On the lip of the cave is a purple sign with some fancy-looking text etched onto it, and there's a mat of hay and grass on the ground. Inside his cave is a massive collection of tools and parts and knickknacks, all categorized and laid out in neat rows. It seems Hardware Store collects funny-looking implements like a typical dragon collects treasure, but he's willing to trade his items for coins and jewels, too, and his proper hoard is in a nook of the cave only he and his parents know about. The young dragons occasionally tease Hardware Store for decorating his home as if he were a weird-o gilded bloodscale.
