Blusang Lindwyrms are quite different from most dragons in that they lack hind legs. In this regard, they resemble snakes, and this is evident in their movement; these lindwyrms slither along the ground, using their forelegs to lift them over rougher terrain. Blusangs are a coastal breed, preferring to live along rocky beaches and in seaside caves rather than sandy locations. They are omnivores who graze on seaweed from time to time, although their primary form of sustenance is fish.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Awel sees herself as a highly intelligent, supernaturally graceful and amazingly talented dragon, and proceeds to inform the world of this on a regular basis. As she is so superior to the common folk, she sees no reason to have to prove it to them, as those with the IQ she claims to have could never be wrong. Yet when quizzed on any type of intellectual matter she remains clueless, leaving others to rightly believe she is all talk. Obsessed with being famous has led Awel down a tricky path, as she attempts to claim an amount of dignity which she does not deserve, and overreacts if someone even looks like they are going to contradict her. While she claims to be strong and independent, she relies deeply on other's thinking of her as a superior, and will frequently throw temper tantrums if they do not. Needless to say, this eccentric behaviour has led to questions about her mental state, and she often finds a room emptied upon her entrance.
