Found only in the deep ocean, Lotaan Dragons are patient and tenacious hunters. They will track their prey for days on end, waiting for the perfect opportunity to surge forward and impale their quarry on the stiff spikes of their tail. Their dark, muted scales help hide their presence in the murky waters, and often the only visible identifier is the faint reddish glow of the mana crystals that line their belly. These crystals grow dimmer the longer they hunt and brighten again after a successful kill. Though solitary by nature, Lotaan are fiercely loyal to their mates and will always return to the place where they first met during breeding season. Together they tend to their eggs and young hatchlings, parting only once the hatchlings are old enough to hunt on their own.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Whomsoever is great at picking up, digesting, and remembering large amounts of information, but he's terrible at relaying it. When describing important occurrences and processes, such as the whereabouts of a missing ally or what his plans for the holidays are, his telepathy is often delivered almost too quickly to process, and he interjects stories with irrelevant details. He goes off-current a lot even when listeners remind him at the start to stay focused, so if folks wants him to tell them something, they must be prepared for it to take a while and be filled with tangentially related or unrelated stuff. Whomsoever is a skilled magic user who especially likes earth magic, and he has a mean kick. A walloping blow from one of his hind fins is a big surprise to assailants who underestimate him due to his blathering or are too busy focused on his tail and body crystals. Once hit, they're usually too dazed to really be wondering whether that can technically be called a kick.
