Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It occasionally shoots small puffs of smoke from its nose, like it’s trying to breathe fire.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Deviled Egg was found in an open dump as an egg by some humans who considered hardboiling it before they decided that they didn't have a taste for balut and that maybe if they raised it themselves, it'd be loyal to the town and be an upstanding member of society. So far, Deviled Egg is learning a lot of things, like waiting her turn during snack time, not picking her nose in public, and not eating the things in the gibbets because that's gross. Most importantly, her caretakers are teaching her that if she is upset, she should not immediately resort to violence but talk in a civilized manner. Deviled Egg seems not to agree with the concept fully, partially because she keeps wondering why it has to be a manor. When she finally piped up, asking if she could just stay outside and how big a house has to be to count as a manor, the caretakers just wound up more confused than she was.
