Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It starts trying to dig whenever you leave it alone.

And look! It’s gotten more colorful! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Melis-more is a melismor with a mischievous streak. Some of his community members at Cave Yankee-9 might call it a mean streak if they didn't know he wasn't being rude or vicious on purpose. His cohorts understand the way he is, though they're surprised someone their age isn't more self-aware. If someone doesn't say directly to Melis-more, in plain words or thoughts, that something he's doing is allowed or disallowed, he wouldn't understand. Anyone who tries the silent treatment on him under the assumption that "he SHOULD know why I'm not talking to him" is met with confusion and anger. Otherwise, Melis-more is diligent and pleasant, always willing to help people out (as long as they aren't angry at him for whatever reason). He's phenomenally good at mimicking animal calls, including managing the tongue and mouth-flap acrobatics to emulate human speech. Aside from pulling practical jokes, he doesn't really know what to do with that skill.
