Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Due to a deformity in one of his wings, two of his scales rub together with an extremely alarming popping sound as he takes off or lands. The other dragons register the sound as bullets and become frightened that some hunter is shooting at them. They dive down only to see glimmering scales and realize with relief that it's only Bullets Benedict Glimmer coming in for a landing. Several creatures have asked him if the colliding scales hurt, and he denies this and explains that it used to scare him as well making him believe that he was being shot at too!
