Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Alexandria was about as much of a wreck as one could be when Wednesday and his small nomadic group found her. Caught up in her own negative emotions, her "daydream" trances would put people into more nightmarish ones. She wasn't exactly kind to those she didn't know, either.

It's uncertain what Wednesday saw in such a rather unpleasant creature, but she agreed to try to be part of his group if it meant that, when it inevitably didn't work out, she could be left alone again.

With a somewhat-proper family and a place to belong, however, Alexandria's personality began to quickly change. While still somewhat cold and untrusting, she did become a much more friendly dragon and, surprisingly, very motherly. She would try to take care of pretty much anybody who was upset, and any hatchlings, which proved to be useful when their nomadic group was brought into a larger Clan.

Alexandria now has a big group to mother over, and three little ones of her own, fathered by her mate Wednesday.
