Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a pink cloud that follows it everywhere. You seem to be having more difficulty concentrating since it arrived.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Absinthe is the oldest of Alexandria and Wednesday's hatchlings, and definitely the most troublesome of the three. Being stubborn like her father, and hot-headed like her mother, it's no wonder why she's such a handful. Falling into a natural leadership role with her siblings, she often gets them up to a lot of mischief, and has been confined to the nursery on more than one occasion as a result. Out of the three, she is also the most competitive, getting into small scraps frequently, much to her mother's embarrassment.

She isn't without her good traits, though, as she is fiercely protective of her Clanmates, and one of the best trackers of her age. If only she would sit still and behave long enough to be taught anything else...
