Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Arafian, along with his mate Kupian, is part of the Clan of Skye. He has a knack for singing, and spends much of his time practicing in song. He has no instrumental skill, so he mostly sings a capella, and without lyrics. When with others of musical talent, he greatly enjoys singing with them, regardless of their instrument. Most of the clan enjoy his music, though some more radical individuals complain that he should not sing on the ground.

Kupian is one of the biggest fans of Arafian's performances, and while she is present his singing is noticeably better than when they are apart. He fawns over her carvings, and what she has carved for him seems to shine with greater light than her other works.
