Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Since he was a baby, the adults around this dragon would mumble, "For wurm" and would frequently remind him, "You are For wurm because you're a gold dragon. This is the plan." Aside from the intonations, he seemed to have a normal upbringing, but he believed he was a planned sacrifice to some monstrous creature, and there were few nights he slept well. On his 44th birthday, he met a lovely shimmering woman who went by an alias, Sandy. They had similar interests, and after three months visiting each other and going on outings, For wurm was convinced Sandy was the closest thing to a soulmate he'd ever meet. She seemed to feel the same about him and spilled her secret: her actual name is "Tatzlwurm", which embarrasses her. For wurm realized that befriending Tatzlurm was somehow in the plans of his elder community members for decades. He doesn't know how to deal with this revelation, so he pushes the thought away whenever it surfaces. He's glad that he's probably not a sacrifice, though.
