Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Calnin is usually a rather laid-back dragon. Nothing seems to bother him, other than bullying. Dragons who pick on others are rather reprehensible to Calnin's mind. If he sees another dragon being picked on, he will go the dragon's defense and scare away the bullies. His protectiveness of the weaker dragons has earned Calnin a fierce reputation in the Cave, in spite of his usually nonchalant nature.
