Script Dragons are named for the markings along their wings and sides that look almost like calligraphy. The patterns correspond to no known language, and are slightly different on every dragon. These dragons only develop the characteristic markings when they reach maturity, and they are fairly capable with magic once the patterns appear.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Visulif Bookwyrm likes to decorate based on his favorite stories. He gives each story its own room, since it's a simple matter to create another subcave when he finds a new favorite. The main tunnel-hallway of the extensive labyrinth of tunnels and caves that make up his lair has all of his favorite quotes in elaborate calligraphy running down the sides.
