Long thought to belong only to myth, these dragons are now spoken of with quiet certainty across many lands. Though no two cultures fully agree on what to call them, they are most commonly recognized as the “Warden of Realms.” Their form can be seen unraveling into radiant spirit, only to effortlessly draw itself whole again, seemingly bound to an unending cycle. Beneath this quiet transformation lies a formidable power, one that is sustained by their mastery over the delicate weave between the body, soul and mana, as well as the planes that contain them. With unwavering focus, often anchored on the orb shaped from the very egg in which they were formed, they pass between realms, preventing their form from slipping entirely into the unseen. Through this control, they are seen as the sentinels of the borders between worlds, ensuring the balance between realms remains undisturbed. Those who experience their presence often speak of soft colors blooming in their wake, shimmering briefly before vanishing almost as quickly as they appear.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
