Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Glandex is not smart, even by drake standards, but he doesn't need to be when his master is there to protect him. It doesn't matter that he's weaker and slower and more easily duped than the wild sunbeam drakes because he knows how to make an adorable face and obey 12 commands, and as long as he does so, Master will feed him. He is loyal to his dear master, except when Master brings out the dreaded basin in which Glandex is bathed. There, he makes a lot of noise and would certainly attract predators if he didn't have a master to protect him.
