Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Draig was just a young magi, she discovered that, despite her powerful magic, her spells almost never seemed to work. In fact one could say they almost seemed to work in opposite. This came to light when the magis were using their magic to summon water from the lake to put out a small forest fire. Wrinkling her forehead, Draig concentrated on the cool, blue water moving slowly and carefully over the trees and landing on the forest fire, closing her eyes and picturing what she wanted to achieve. She opened her eyes, only to see a fireball land on the fire, exploding into a giant plume of fire, obliterating the surrounding forest. Embarrassed, she returned home, only to find the other magi dragons researching her magic, trying to figure out why it was so topsy turvy. Late one night they discovered that she has reverse magic, so whatever she tried to do, the opposite would happen, so when Draig would try to hold something in place with magic, it would teleport.
