Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Thwipzus is sleek, trim, and boiling over with life. "Still" is not a concept he understands; the closest he is physically capable of coming is trembling in anticipation of his next flight. As such, he is alternately loved and hated by the other dragons of the drove. He never really grew up at heart, and is as trusting and overly friendly as a hatchling. He sees Kae as a mother figure, Animus and Tropis as his best friends, Sciurics as a little brother, and Grier and K'Graa as bafflingly cranky uncles who are fundamentally good at heart. Somewhere. He loves playing with the hatchlings, but is not quite responsible enough to be left alone with them. (Especially not after the infamous "Sugar Cane Incident.")
