Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Whirlwind Fantasy is known among the other dragons by the nickname "Wind-Singer" because of her voice. She drifts in the air currents and often her voice can be heard singing a strange lilting tune. Some have described it as a keen of sorrow and a cry of joy all mixed into one. It is not uncommon for one of the other dragons, upon hearing her songs to burst out in tears and laugh with joy at the same time. Some are convinced her song is laced with magic to make it have this affect on others. She never speaks a word other then when she is singing. Her silence can be just as disturbing as her song. When she is silent her eyes seem to rove and pierce into the very soul of anyone she looks at. These sensations make the other dragons very uncomfortable. Everyone is confused by her emotion inducing songs and soul piercing eyes. Both are too strange to comprehend.
