Kingcrownes are a mysterious and proud species, possessing some of the most beautiful and reflective scales of all dragons. Despite this, what is sought after most is not their scales, but the silk-like hairs that grow along their head, neck, and elbows. The hairs themselves have a magical shine, and are thought to have powerful healing properties when used in potions. The hairs of a Kingcrowne are even believed to bring good fortune to those who possess them. Though it is obvious that these dragons possess magical abilities, it is still not entirely clear what they are fully capable of. Most of a Kingcrowne’s time is spent grooming itself, keeping its scales and fur in top condition.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Pistou spent her youth training to be a magic-adept fighter like her adoptive family, but what she really wanted to be was a painter. After much argument, she got her way. She left the territory and found lodgings in a human-populated city, even joining a movement called Akarsaks. It was an exciting forty-some years, but, of course, when Pistou returned home permanently, her family made no secret that they wished she had stuck to her original path. When conflict broke out with a state across the sea, everyone in the clan enlisted. Pistou headed to the eastern theatre with the troops but avoided fighting. Instead, she drew everything she saw and, during times of peace, turned those sketches into paintings. They looked marvelous—even when the soldiers were doing things such as sitting around or burying bodies, they looked dignified in Pistou's portrayals. They liked "looking good" for the civilians, and she gained respect in her clan and the greater territory as a talented artist.
