Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sigero's mother Aievez dotes on her eldest, most perfect son. He barely knows what it's like to be punished; only ever receiving any form of chastising from Elder Rosiline. For revenge, his mother secretly caused of an accident where Rosiline seriously fractured her leg.

Sigero is a nasty piece of work, yet his mother thinks he's the perfect son. She thinks he is the next savior of the Northern Clans. Her praise has given him a potentially fatal bravado. He brags if he ever met Izdati, the maniacal leader of Creorluna, he'd send that pretender crying to his mommy.

Sigero has an intense rivalry with Krui, Sigero's opposite in every way. Krui's modest, righteous, and kind. Left alone, he'd be a hundred fold stronger than Sigero.

But Krui's not left alone. Sigero and his mother make sure of that. Krui is Sigero's plaything and scapegoat. He and his mother often gang up on the young stud, framing him for all sorts of misdeeds. Sigero isn't above breaking Krui's limbs for sport.
