Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tanzethus StarryNight (after the gemstone: Tanzanite) became the 219th clan dragon one bright, starry spring night not long after the seasonal rains finally came to an end. He is a no-nonsense dragon who adamantly disapproves of Tanziten's behavior and fervently seeks to put an end to his mischief, believing that such activity is beneath him as a dragon and reflects badly on the entire clan. As a result, the two seem almost constantly at odds with one another, and often their tussles end very badly. So far no serious injuries have been inflicted either way, but the clan elders seem gravely concerned that one day that will change. As if sensing the impending conflict, Tanzadria began pursuing him, hoping that she might be able to calm his building rage, and it didn't take long for their budding affections to grow into a lasting bond which resulted in their first offspring. Thankfully, fatherhood has quieted his response at least, if not his thoughts, and the conflict diverted!
