It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Reexamine is normally unseen and works in the background, but in battle, he is a ferocious and volatile thug who lives for the thrill of bloodshed! ...Is what he would like outsiders to Cata Arom to believe, since he's not suited for combat, even medium-level self-defense exercises. Most everyone in Cata Arom is so fight-happy that the district as a whole has a reputation for being the toughest of them, so weaklings like Reexamine can skate by with false tales and strategic hiding. Though he lacks physical strength, he excels in resource allocation and development of new technology. He's totally okay with (occasionally) taking up the Traditional Purple Role as well. Reexamine is very curious, and once he has his mind set on a project, very tenacious and determined to see it completed. He's respected by most dragons, though the ones in his cohort hold hope that he can still do some training sometime and finally graduate from the Elementary Dojo.
