Honey Drakes are small, energetic creatures that feed almost exclusively on flower nectar, honey, and insects. The myriad scales covering their bodies protect them from the stings of angry bees as they feed from hives, though these dexterous and wily drakes rarely need the protection. Though notably silent most of the time, Honey Drakes are capable of producing a purr-like thrum that seems to calm bees down, and their ravenous appetite for nectar results in a free meal for the hive, harvested from the drakes’ own scales.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

There is an odd tradition in one particular region in Sierra-V. Every so often, someone holds a drawing or large-scale game of some sort, for instance, the hosts of the Bluewater Carnival every year raffle off a number of miscellaneous valuable goods. Those who've not won the drawing of the time congratulate the winners and commiserate with each other by passing around Loser Cookies. This honey drake is the current holder of the Loser Cookies title. Despite the foodstuffs in his name, he does not get eaten and is in no danger at all. He holds still and purrs as he's petted or nuzzled, so this is not an ordeal for him. People who were upset about not receiving anything in the drawing feel better when they get ahold of Loser Cookies and hear his thrums.
