Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

True to her breed, Soliel is friendly and remarkably cheerful. Her wings give off a brilliant shine and she is very fond of showing off her plumage by doing sky dives and prancing cheerily. As was expected, Flambliss did not take well to the Day Glory Drake and isolates herself from the overly peppy young Soliel. Regardless, Soliel gets along with many of the other dragons, and especially likes to play with Diamonda Minor. This sweet drake shares a very close relationship with an Ochredrake, Lustrous Tiger's Eye, and the two are never seen apart.
