Algarre dragons are skittish swamp dwellers. Not exactly ferocious or captivating, Algarres live placid lives in estuaries and swamps, feeding on and propagating algae. The dark mottling of green on their skin has photosynthetic properties, and many Algarres spend their days sleeping in the sun, and feeding at night. The brightness of the red patches determines how desirable an individual is as a prospective mate. Algarres communicate through a series of trills and hoots. Their mottled green hides serve to camouflage them among the lush flora they inhabit. Because of this, hearing an Algarre’s trills is much more common than seeing one.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

This dragon is solitary, timid, and not that knowledgeable on social etiquette, so when other dragons started building things and sharing resources and keeping detailed records, he mostly ignored their activities. When this "census" thingamajig was announced and later a census taker visited his pond and green patch, he gritted his teeth, tried not to look scared, and answered the questions as best as he could. He didn't have names for anything, including himself, since there was no reason to. The surveying dragon with the notepad wouldn't go away until he had answers for all the "required fields" on the form, including his name... so he gave a shrug and a grunt, and then sunk into the water to indicate he was done answering questions.
