Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kraude'zaophane, first son to father Octilion'Zaokaell and mother Braekraude; it was hoped he would be the first of a great line leading to a new order of rare, darker and more gruesome blacks to put others of their lesser kind in their place below them as Octilion had always wished. It was not until too late, and heirs born did the great self proclaimed lord of pure lines discover his sons mother was not of pure bloodand that she had lied to gain his love. His son had already taken a pure mate by the name of Kayellia, and produced a grandson. Octilions vengeance was swift and unforgiving. First heir no longer, his son was brutally attacked and crippled by his own father for fear of further shaming his blood. Kraude' now sits broken under his fathers gaze as a servant to the rest of the line until the day he dies. His mother Brae is no longer to give heirs, nor have contact with any other dragon as long as Octilion is in command over his domain.
