Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Augustus resides in one of the dungeon cells of a castle, as one of its permanent residents. She is actually content living there and sometimes calls it her castle. It doesn't belong to her and she knows little of its history, but since the owner is a close friend of hers and more-or-less allows her to stay there for free, she might as well co-own it. Augustus sweeps the dungeons and public areas aboveground, and she sometimes quells fights that occur among guests (and then throws those responsible into the dungeon). Her cell is in the easternmost part of the dungeon, the only area deep and cold enough where the snow she has placed there does not melt into puddles.
