Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lancyr does not make friends easily. He is incredibly intelligent, more so than many other dragons. He is quick to share his insights and insult others who cannot keep up with his leaps of logic. He does not necessarily mean to be rude (most of the time); he just doesn't think about how to share his ideas without insulting others. In spite of this, Lancyr does have a few close friends who stick by him no matter what insults he hurls at him because they know he does not truly mean it.
