Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Firedrake and his mate, Fireflower, are highly ranked in a clan of Red Dragons known as the Fireheart clan. Firedrake and Fireflower's long forgotten ancestors began the clan, establishing a hierarchy within itself. All members of the Fireheart clan follow a code of ethics (such as never attacking unless attacked first) and look to their leader, the Firequeen or Fireking. Firedrake and Fireflower are second only to their daugher,Firequeen Firebreath, in rank. Firebreath rules the clan.

Firedrake is a noble dragon, and puts others before himself. Many members of the Fireheart clan decided to join said clan after being saved by Firedrake. He loves his mate, Fireflower, more than anything in the world. He is strong, his talons are sharp and white, and his breath is an inferno, waiting to engulf anything that threatens him or his family. He would gladly lay down his life for another. He is gentle but firm, and takes time in making decisions.
