Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Four days a week, Chilly Fall walks to the School to teach and tutor students from sunrise to sunset. The administrators have arranged his teaching schedule for him, allot a reasonable number of vacation days, and provide as many meals as he needs, so he is perfectly happy with working like this forever. Chilly Fall is fond of spinach and plaice, so much that on break days, he'll trot into towns along the coast to acquire them. He has none of the patience to grow anything, and he doesn't know the first thing about fishing, so he feels getting these two items from humans is the only option. It's not "shamelessly begging", it's "requesting". Most of Chilly Fall's brethren and even some humans think this is unseemly. Some family members pretend not to know him, and while at work, other teachers make fun of him, though he seems to not care.
