Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Despite being as black as outer space, it has a few bright patterns on it.

And look! It has grown wings and its scales have gained beautiful patterns. It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Astrolica is part of the Clan of Skye. Ganica found her when she was an egg, while flying some distance from the Clan's normal roosts, and adopted her. She raised the wyrmling despite the fact that she suffers from an extreme overbite, a deformed right leg, and Peter Pan Syndrome. These defects are probably caused by Astrolica's inbreeding, or from having been nearly frozen to death as an egg.

Within the clan, Astrolica has grown to prove herself as an adept flier, which is surprising given the skywings she must compare to. She has proven herself capable of gliding while sleeping, which previously only the clan's skywings could do, and can outmaneuver many of the younger skywings as well. She is fiercely competitive, but also quite shy.
