Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. This hatchling seems to be filled with a fell, inner flame.

And look! Its wings have grown, and it’s become bigger, more aggressive, and much hotter.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Behold, seeker of the dragon lore, Eliasfeuer of the Hellfire Wyverns. As an egg, she was abandoned by her mother and left with her rather inexperienced father who astoundingly managed to make the egg hatch but then seemed to be frightened of the hatchling, leaving it alone in the cave. There she was found by the researcher who had been watching her father's cave who took her with him, although she repeatedly tried to bite him, hissing and snarling all the time. Her name was given to her due to the glow which began to emanate from her which reminded the researcher of St. Elmo's Fire. Although she still remained very aggressive and snappy, she began to come closer to the researcher now and again after a few months. In the end she became quite tame and has been the mascot of the research team of that area.
