Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A Fearful Symmetry chose his name because he is obsessed with the poetry of William Blake. He is sad that Blake neglected to write a lot about dragons, but he still likes a good read. His father's name gave him the idea, he admits, but he isn't a bit like his father—he doesn't like to fight; he would rather be curled up reading poetry to the frozen black hatchies in the cave. Then again—he doesn't have one wing shorter than the other so no-one teases him. Or maybe that's because they are afraid of his father. Whichever—it makes for a quiet life, and he likes that.
