Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Wampus Cat prowls and howls in her forest. During the day, she keeps to her tunnel or traverses the most familiar routes, staying wary of danger but making no trouble. During the night, she becomes more aggressive and active, occasionally letting out a howl as she patrols to establish that she's the dominant creature. While many animals are nocturnal, she believes that humans shouldn't be one of them and will hunt down any who've decided to travel in her forest at night. To confuse humans, she sometimes takes the form of a human-puma creature using illusion magic. As long as Wampus stays out of reach, it's nearly impossible to see the flaws in the disguise, and it helps that she's constantly on the move. She can easily keep the magic in effect for long periods, hence the reason many humans who have seen her or even tried to follow her during the day think they're looking for a human woman with feline traits rather than a dragon.
