Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Avz likes to fly with his clanmates, hunting and sweet-talking all the females, including those who are already mated. His clanmates don't think he has had any relationships, but most suspect him of having been more than friendly with at least one of the nebulae. There is some debate as to which it was, and certainly none claim to have been involved with him. Regardless, it is known but unspoken that any lonely female can find relief at Avz's side without worrying that anyone else will know—especially not the mates of those who already have a partner for life.

Many of his clanmates are quite creative and Avz desperately wishes he had at least some sort of talent to make pretty things. His voice is too sharp for good music and his claw trembles when he tries to draw or carve. His hunting techniques are ungainly and flying is not graceful either.
