Equinox Dragons are a highly vocal, migratory breed, easy to find when they are traveling through an area and incredibly scarce otherwise. They are extremely skilled at following dates and times based off the movement of the sun and the moons, and follow their lengthy migration routes like clockwork. Large flocks of Equinoxes can darken the skies, and their calls, which sound like eerie flutes, can be heard from a great distance. Equinoxes are very social, and hatchlings are cared for communally by the entire group—it’s rare to see a solitary Equinox, and any stragglers who don’t have a flock will often attempt to join groups of other breeds of dragon.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gerhold is the Undersecretary of Lower Civil Service One, a promotion that the Leader kind of regrets but can't bring herself to revoke. Lower Civil Service One is like any other civil service except it's subterranean, and it's in different locations depending on time of year. When the clan migrates, they have to fill the holes and tunnels and dig new ones in the location they pick when they land. It seems troublesome, and it is. Gerhold enjoys preparing for events and keeping track of stuff in the offices, but he needs the superiors to tell him what to plan for. He's been eyeing the Oversecretary position for a long time, but he probably won't be promoted any time soon since he's priggish and condescending, and his team try to avoid meetings with him lasting more than 6 minutes. He hates jokes but employs sarcasm a lot.
