Melismor Dragons are social, good-natured dragons that enjoy the shelter of forested areas. They live in close-knit family groups, burrowing deep into the earth and creating extensive, winding networks of underground burrows. While rarely seen at the surface, Melismor Dragons, when encountered, are known to be fiercely loyal and protective, yet kind when their families aren’t in any danger. These dragons are omnivorous, but most of their diet consists of plants, especially tender roots, and honey is a favored treat they’ll often bring back to their burrows to share.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cioppino resides in a lakeside castle. It's cozy and has splendid decor. Aside from a handful of visitors who occasionally cause a ruckus (who are then quickly ushered out or otherwise dealt with), the place is so pleasant and amenities plentiful that Cioppino happily pays the expensive living fee for her underground room. Her neighbors are much better to her than the administration-sanctioned caretakers she had when she was small, and every day, she talks to the wise garland hanging out at the bar, on the wall hooks. Cioppino wonders if there's any way to get a discount by finding some chores to do or maybe offering to cook for the staff. She makes a pretty good fish stew, and the garland lady seems to really like it. But she doesn't know who to ask.
