Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nighteling is a Sunset dragon, and unlike his cousin Brighteling the Sunrise, he spends most of the day asleep, only waking up when the sun sets. In his chaotic family, no one really minds this as long as he doesn't disturb them as he wanders around at night. Nighteling has an unobtrusive, quiet nature, and has a dislike of loud sounds and large gatherings. He prefers to sit by himself on the mountain top or by the lake and think his own thoughts. Occasionally, the quieter dragons in the family come out and sit with him. His silent nature also has an unnerving effect on people, who often don't notice him when he comes up near them and only become aware of his presence if they turn around or someone else points him out or he makes a chace remark.
