They say that Mt Nomad is a fearsome, wandering monster associated with the Void. They say she may hold sway over glassy living icebergs that prey on ships, or perhaps is their sister. They say her mother is a sea deity known either as Stone or the Mountain of Light, and her father is an extremely dangerous creature who steals faces and controls all other face-takers. Really, though, Nomad is just a regular hen who spends her days walking around, pecking tiny sand critters, and splashing in the surf. Someone very powerful is very fond of her and has cast countless spells to keep her safe from harm. Often, a person who merely wanders near the beach where Nomad and her owner reside will hallucinate otherworldly mountains, swirling black water, and other mysterious things and be filled with a deep unease until they leave. Particularly weak-minded individuals tend to dream of these long after they've fled.
