Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has bright blue eyes, and is as clumsy as any other hatchling, but it never seems to get injured.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Bibliotic lives in a repository of books, scrolls, and other such things, which is owned by a burly gap-toothed human with an apparent soft spot for cute things. The hatchling squeaks irately if it appears someone is treating the documents badly, and when the repository is closed, he stays near the entrance like a nightwatchman. Bibliotic is free to roam around during the day, and he is particularly interested in handwritten documents. Although he can't read any of them, he likes following the markings with a finger and running his eyes along the rows of text. To onlookers, he looks like a tiny academic poring over his studies.
